RETROFIT DAMPER FIRE DAMPERS & ACCESS DOORS
The Aprilaire Retrofit Zoned Comfort DamperAprilaire provides the solution for economically zoning existing homes. Installed through a simple cut-out in the side of a 6” branch duct, this damper provides speedy installation and operates with standard 24 volt zone panels, minimizing system cost. The damper benefits from a proven “no gears” design and is installed with traditional sheet metal tools, wires and fittings so no special training or tools are required. And, the damper features an LED which lights to indicate when the damper is closed, simplifying checkout.

Retrofit Damper $86.17 DAMPER POWER DISTRIBUTION PANEL
Fire dampers are typically intended to be used as part of the HVAC duct system when passing through a fire-rated barrier (walls, partitions or floors). Fire dampers will close automatically when a temperature sensitive, fusible link detects elevated temperatures and opens. There are two categories of fire dampers.
The first are static fire dampers which close when the HVAC system blower is not running (probably turned off by means of an automatic fire detector). The second are dynamic fire dampers, which close while the HVAC system blower is running. Dynamic fire dampers are investigated for closure under maximum recom- mended airflow.
All installed fire dampers must be accessible for inspection and/or testing by the local authorities. If fire dampers are not accessible from a grill or register, an access door in the ductwork is required.
Fire dampers are typically used in commercial and institutional buildings such as:
• Motels • Hospitals • Clinics
• Restaurants
• Senior Citizen Complexes • Nursing Homes
• Assisted Living Facilities • Retail Stores • Apartments • Schools • Churches • Offices
Metal-Fab fire dampers & access doors are not stocked at R.E. Michel locations but are available as a special order item. Please contact your local branch or sales representative for more information.
The Model 8028 helps simplify the wiring process when control- ling more dampers then the zone control panel can handle, isolat- ing the dampers for the control circuit eliminating over-current issues.
