The Aprilaire Model 4851 relay is designed to activate the equipment blower when there is no call for heat, but a call for humidification is present. Relay will allow the humidifier to en- ergize the HVAC blower on a call for humid- ity, independent of the thermostat. Since the humidifier is no longer dependent on a call for

heat, it can continue to deliver controlled humidification to satisfy the space requirements.
