SWG Series POWER VENTERS

Recommended by many manufacturers for sidewall venting of furnaces, boilers, unit heat- ers and water heaters. The SWG series power venter combines the fan, motor and vent hood into one complete, compact unit that installs easily outside the building, eliminating operating noise and vibration from occupied areas. The convenient venting of flue gases through the sidewall saves the expense and wasted space of chimney installation. Through use of the SWG venter, installation of gas fireplaces and gas or oil-fired water heaters, furnaces and boilers is possible in nearly any residential, commercial or industrial setting.

Venting with negative pressure, the SWG prevents possible flue gas leakage from the venting system, and the unique design allows for easy use of outside air for direct vent appliances. A factory wired control kit is separate from the power venter unit and can be located up to 100 feet remote for ease of access. An SWG power venter is selected by matching the input heating capacity or firing rate of the appli- ance. Vent pipe size is determined according to the length of the run from appliance to venter. Since most gas and oil-fired appliances are designed to accommodate natural draft installations, the flue outlet in many cases will be larger than required for sidewall venting.

In such cases the vent size may be reduced at the appliance to the selected vent pipe size,and again, if necessary, at the venter connec- tion. It is possible to vent multiple appliances through a single SWG power venter. In multiple installations the combined BTUH input or firing rate for all appliances must not exceed the maximum rating for the venter, and a separate control kit must be installed for each appliance. All SWG series power venters are 115 volt AC operation. Control kits below are required and are ordered separately.

SIZING POWER VENT SYSTEMS

When sizing power vent systems, elbows in the vent piping must be factored into the equivalent length. As a rule, each 90º elbow is the equivalent of 10 ft. of horizontal run; each 45º elbow is equal to 5 ft. of horizontal run.
