MULTI-POSITION BLOWER/COIL UNITS
“R” series air handlers are sturdy built, wrap around design for low air leakage (less than 2%) with two front mounted service panels. The Hydrotec drain pans are treated with an anti-microbial additive to resist mold and mildew growth and improve indoor air quality. Suitable for use with R-22 and R410A. Two speed blowers and built in, bottom filter racks. Blower coils come with additional drain pan installed for upflow, horizontal left or horizontal right applications. Electrical connections can be made on top, right or left side. Dual drain connections (3/4”) on left and right. Refrigerant con- nections are 3/8” and 3/4” od up thru 2 ton, 2-1/2 thru 5 ton are 3/8” and 7/8” od. All air handlers are 230v-1 ph

ARE MICRON READINGS NECESSARY?
What is it? A MICRON is 1/25400th of an inch of HG. Manifold charging and testing gauges typically only measure vacuum in FULL INCHES of HG and are totally incapable of measuring in thousands of the last inch on the gauge. No one can determine the last 1/2 inch of vacuum viewing a typical manifold gauge, much less the last thousands of an inch.
Service personnel need a “micron gauge” to determine when the system has reached a sufficient level of vacuum to cause the moisture to vaporize. (Moisture boils at lower temperatures as the atmospheric pressure is reduced.) Connecting a vacuum pump to a system and leaving it run for an hour or more, without checking the micron levels, doesn’t mean moisture has been removed. Numerous reasons why the system didn’t reach a sufficiently low micron level can and do occur. Only the micron readings confirm true vacuum and moisture removal. As the moisture is vaporized, the vacuum pump removes the vapor from the system. The lower the microns, the faster the moisture boils and the faster the vacuum pump can remove the vapor. The following is an example of the boil- ing point of water at a given atmospheric pressure:
Water boils at 212º F at 0” HG. 79 F at 29” HG. 32 F at 29.99” HG -15 F at 500 microns -25 F at 250 microns
