AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC WATER HEATER TIMER

This low-cost 24 hour timer allows electric hot water heaters to be programmed to operate at preset inter- vals according to the home-owner’s hot water usage

schedule. Eliminates energy waste of maintaining maximum hot water temperature 24 hours a day. Water heater can be programmed to operate during periods of peak demand, such as several hours in morning and evening. Equipped with manual override control to allow immediate operation for special requirements without disturbing existing programs. Since a water heater uses more elec- tricity than any other appliance, the Paragon 4002 Timer can save as much as 33% of electricity costs. Construction features include timer dial driver by heavy duty synchronous motor and industrial type switch mechanisms to assure lasting, trouble-free operation. REMOTE TEMPERATURE DEFROST CONTROL

For electric heat defrosting... hot gas or reverse-cycle defrosting. The length of de-frost is self-adjusting for varying loads and atmo- spheric conditions; accomplished by wiring an additional pressure switch or thermostat to the time control. The 8140 series has a defrost period termination fail-safe built into the time control dial. The fail-safe dial is adjustable from 4-110 minutes in 2 minutes in- crements. Defrost as often as every 4 hours. The time dial initiates the defrost cycle and a rise in pressure or temperature terminates the defrost cycle at pre-determined setting. Rated at 30 amps.

8240 Series TIME INITIATED PRESSURE TERMINATED DEFROST CONTROL

The 8240 Series Defrost Control is time-initiated with termination being regulated over a wide range of pressure settings. Cut-in pressures range from 36 to 110 psi, thus allowing for R12, R22 and R502. There is a calibrated cut-in indicator with a pressure setting screw. As with the other defrost controls, the contacts are 2 HP, 40 amp pilot duty with AC voltages of 208-240. In addition to the pressure cut-in, the 8240 Series has backup mechanical defrost termination to protect against sensor failure. The timer allows settings from 4 to 110 minutes with two minute increments. One to six defrost cycles may be set per day with a minimum of four hours between cycle initiation. Contact design allows for hot gas, electric heat or compressor shutdown.
