Due to the pressure drop thru the Munchkin heat exchanger, HTP recommends the minimum size circulators for each boiler in their I&O manual. Their recommendations for circulators are as follows:

Models T50/T80M & 80M Taco 007 (5W300) or Grundfos UPS15-58FC used on speed #2 (5W618) Model 140M Model 199M

Taco 0010 (5W305) or Grundfos UP26-64 (5W622) Taco 0011 (5W311) or Grundfos UP26-96 (5W623)

The above recommendations are based on 1 GPM/10,000 BTUs for basic boiler installations. Other factors must be considered for spe- cific pump sizing on 399M and multi-use applications which will require different circulators.

INDIRECT WATER HEATERS

These are compact indirect heaters for use with Munchkin boilers. Indirects have a stainless steel tank with a cupronickel heat exchanger. The 2” foam tank insulation and plastic jacket combine for a standby loss of less than 1/2°F per hour loss. When the room thermostat or the Super Stor Ultra Indirect Water Heater calls for Hot Water, the Munchkin control board will start the pump and start to monitor the return water temperature of the system before the burner is energized to provide the heat to the rooms or Super Stor Ultra Indirect Water Heater. Once the system has sensed a drop in the system settings it will energize the burner and begin to heat the water as it flows through the Munch- kin Heater. The Munchkin Controller will now start to monitor the system and begin to modulate the fan to control the amount of energy needed. This keeps the Munchkin and Super Stor Ultra Indirect Water Heater running at the highest efficiency. This saves you money and prevents the system from cycling on and off when there is a minimal heat or hot water requirement.

VISION 1 CONTROL SYSTEM

This system is designed to maximize the operational efficiencies of residential Munchkin boilers used with, or without indirect domestic water heaters. The Vision 1 control system regulates boiler temperatures based on outdoor temperatures. The Vision 1 is also a two temperature system, one temperature for Central heating and another temperature to the indirect water heater. This allows the user to increase the temperature to the indirect water heater by prioritizing the flow at a higher temperature than may be required for the space heating. Once the indirect is satisfied, the control reverts back to the temperatures required for space heating based on the outdoor temperatures. The system includes the outdoor sensor, indirect tank sensor, and Vision 1 control.
