The Aprilaire® electronic air cleaner is never less than 94% efficient at removing disease-causing bacteria as small as 0.35 micron. This new air cleaner’s performance is also unparalleled at capturing particles of all sizes. Works on a new patented breakthrough technol- ogy called “Electrically Enhanced Air Filtration”. Because this air cleaner is so efficient, it means there’s less dust in your air to collect on surfaces and damage expensive equipment like computers and other electronics. It also means that heating and cooling equipment receives the greatest protection available. When dust and other contaminants build up in the furnace or air conditioner, they can cause premature breakdown. But the superior efficiency of the Aprilaire® electronic air cleaner will help heating and cooling equipment lead a long and productive life. Plate-type electronic air cleaners simply charge particles, which then may be attracted to grounded plates in the unit. Using air cleaning media instead of plates to trap particles provides several benefits. Unlike plate-type electronic air cleaners that lose efficiency over time, the Aprilaire® electronic air cleaner’s special media permanently traps particulate, which means you al- ways get the efficiency you expect. Plate-type electronic air cleaners must be cleaned frequently to maintain efficiency, but the Aprilaire special media may only need to be changed once a year, an operation that takes just a few minutes. The Aprilaire 4000 Series air cleaners are completely redesigned air cleaners which allow active control of the blower to meet hom- eowner’s requirements. These air cleaners offer activation of the system blower independent of a call for heat, or cooling. The air cleaner is multi-positional, constructed of 22 ga. steel and will support air handlers when used horizontally. The air cleaners have blue LED indicators on the door assembly to provide indication of blower and air cleaner operation.

Units are supplied with an air system control which can be mounted along side the existing thermostat, or mounted in a cradle on the air cleaner. The control uses a blue back-lit screen with soft touch buttons for setting. The air cleaner control allows the end user to select the periods of blower operation, indicates system operation, and advises when there is a media change requirement. The media has been redesigned to be shipped in collapsed accordion fashion, opened, and installed in tracks in the air cleaner frame. These air cleaners are the same length and depth as the popular 2200 and 2400 media air cleaners, except they are thinner by 3-1/4” to allow return air drops to be positioned closer to the equipment, and positioning under air handlers without adding excessive height.
