The KHA series is a self contained heat pump unit suitable for roof top, or ground level mounting. Shipped for roof top downflow application, supply and return duct panels are easily moved to allow horizontal discharge and return without the need of additional parts (looking at openings, supply on left and return on right). Standard features include Scroll compressor, copper tube/alu- minum fin coils, sloped condensate pan with connections on side or bottom, and permanently lubricated motors. All controls are pre-wired and easily accessible. System can operate from 30°F to 125°F without the need for additional controls. Filter drier, high pressure switch, crankcase heater, and freezestat mounted for system protection. Cabinets are constructed of heavy gauge galvanized steel with a two layer enamel paint finish. Easy access panels provided for accessory addition and maintenance. Units use 4 each 16 x 20 x 2” filters.

ADDITIONAL COMBUSTION AIR?

Today’s modern homes have more and more insulation. The use of Tyvek style vapor barriers, weather stripping and caulk- ing conserves energy, but may make the house so tight that there is a lack of sufficient combustion air for the appliances. The proper operation of fossil fuel heating equipment relies heavily on infiltrated air to replace the air used for combustion by the appliances. Insuffient combustion air causes major operational problems ranging from an inability to achieve a clean fire, to sooting, to odors in the house, to random control lockouts. When installing new equipment, or trouble shooting problem equip- ment, determine the equipment is installed in accordance with NFPA 31 and NFPA 54 requirements for combustion air. Outside air combustion kits are available to deal with this problem. We offer outside air intake kits for specific oil burners, concentric kits for 90+ gas furnaces and generic intake air kits for gas or oil equipment.
