SOLAR WATER HEATING
Solar energy preserves valuable fossil fuels, and minimizes heating costs, while protecting the environment. A Buderus fully integrated, solar water heating system converts this solar energy to heat hot water conveniently and quickly, to supply clean, affordable and efficient water heating.
The Buderus Solar systems offered are a result of 25 years of extensive testing in the field. All components are pre-packaged with all of the necessary components to provide a seamless instal- lation. Buderus solar thermal heating systems are comprised of 4 packaged components making the system selection very simple.

Solar collectors are exposed to the elements all year round, so Buderus collectors are built to safe- guard their optimum performance. All panel frames are constructed of long-lasting and lightweight fiberglass. Special safety glass provides stability and a special coating provides optimum energy absorption. The SKS 4.0 collector is a high performance, double meander design that is hermetically sealed with an inert gas to reduce heat loss and optimize heat transfer
Collector packages include collectors (as selected), collector connection set, air vent, pump station with temperature valve, expansion tank, 50 ft. twin tube line set with sensor wire, and Tyfocor-L solar fluid. all connections are “plug & socket”, with no required sweat connections.

Buderus indirect solar storage tanks are highly efficient dual coil storage tanks that accumulate and store the collected solar heat from the collectors. These tanks have a second heat exchanger coil that allows connection to a boiler as a back-up heating source for long periods of low solar energy days. All SM tanks are “Ther- moglazed” and include a heavy insulation blanket for heat retention, a replaceable magnesium anode rod, and bolt-in inspection/cleanout cap. All water connections are on the same side of the tank for easier pipe routing. Solar coil connection and cold water inlet near the bottom, with DWH and relief valve near the top on the side.

FOR USE WITH ELECTRIC ELEMENTS BACK-UP
Bradford White EcoStor indirect solar storage tanks can be used without a secondary heating source such as a hydronic boiler. They can be used in conjunction with an existing water heater, or as a stand alone unit. Tanks have a single heat exchanger and twin 4500 watt Incoloy electric elements. The EcoStor tanks feature the Opti- mizer Temperature Control System with integrated thermostatically controlled mixing device (ASSE approved) to prevent scalding, factory installed HydroJet performance, mounted and wired controls, twin anode rods, and 2” non-cfc foam insulation on the tank. Relief valve and brass drain valve included.
