The redesigned DL379 generation two clamp meter features several upgrades for increased safety, enhanced functionality, a comfortable interface and unparalleled innovation.

Input jack lock prevents temperature probe and test leads from being simultaneously connected to the meter. This is a great safety device protecting users against a potentially harmful yet common error. A low battery warning prevents use when the battery is too low to pro- vide accurate readings. The newly enhanced audible NCV alarm gives an accurate indication of live voltages. The easily distinguishable tones are synchronized with a red LED warning light.

A capacitance function can easily be selected by turning the dial. The NVC sensor has been relocated to the clamp head’s wire sorting tip and features improved sensitivity, providing added convenience and increased detection reliability. Temperature calibration allows the user to recalibrate temperature in the field eliminating down time and saving money. The user can select manual ranging on either the upper or lower display screen. Select the proper range fro the function to speed up testing, and to capture maximum values more ac- curately.

EasyView high contrast backlit display to aid viewing in direct sunlight and dark work environments. The duration of the backlight has been increased allowing more time to connect to the test points and view results in the dark. A dual backlit display allows simultaneous measurements of current and voltage. Thumb wheel navigation has been added to provide a firm ergonomic grip that allows for comfort- able one-handed operation.

A detachable clamp head can be removed and replaced with The Hook* extended clamp head to provide measurement capabilites in hard to reach areas. The G2 Phoenix also accepts common industry attachment heads. Dark work spaces are now illuminated with the worklight on the meter head. Once activated the worklight will stay illuminated for two minutes. Magnetic mount built in to offer hands- free operation. Test leads snap into the back of the meter’s housing for storage, covering the sharp probes and keeping the leads readily available.
