The ‘Traffic Light’ – Used by experienced Instructors/Coaches to develop techniques “交通灯”——经验丰富的教练/指导员⽤来帮助学员发展新技术
This technique is question-based around performance. The traffic-light review opens up more opportunity for a flowing discussion. This works with experienced students; however, some may prefer a more direct approach and want to be told what’s going wrong and how they put it right. This means it’s back to the hairdryer! If a student invites this as a coaching solution there’s no harm in accepting the invitation providing it’s done with a degree of sensitivity.
However, asking questions and probing what the student thinks and feels will give you confidence that they know what they’re learning and what they are trying to achieve.
