• The mainsail/jib controls used for monohull teaching are very different for multihulls, i.e. mainsheet is the ‘kicker’ and tightens the leech, and the traveller controls the angle of the mainsail to the wind
• Introduce two traveller positions: upwind/reaching (central) and downwind (two-thirds out) • 介绍滑⻋的两个位置:迎⻛/横⻛(置于中间)和顺⻛(置于三分之⼆处) • There are Four Essentials (no daggerboards) • 四要素(⽆稳向板) • Remember CAT, which stands for: • 简记为CAT,代表 • Crew weight (balance and trim) • 船员重⼼(左右平衡和前后平衡) • Airflow (sail setting) • ⽓流(帆的设置) • Technique (course made good) • 技术(最佳航线)
Top Tip 重要提示
The combination of sessions one to three provides the perfect introductory taster sail. If time allows, you may wish to continue on to session four, tacking.
结合练习⼀到三可以让学员全⾯地体验⽔上航⾏。如时间允许,可进⾏练习四:迎⻛转向。
Heaving To 反受⻛停船
Heaving to is used whenever you wish to depower the boat and hold it at a constant angle to the wind while floating free. This is a more stable position than simply lying to with both sails flapping, due to the jib being aback.
