• Adults: Always involve the adult in any decision making regarding the referral and gain consent from the victim to share the information. If you feel that the adult does not have sufficient capacity to make a decision about sharing information, you should consider if breaking confidentiality is in the best interests of the victim. • Children and young people: Gain consent from the parent/carer to share the information. Only speak with the parents/caregivers of the victim if this does not pose a risk to the child.
• Don’t make promises to keep secrets. • 不要承诺⼀定会保守秘密。 • Don’t ask leading questions or put words in the mouth of the victim. • 不要提出引导性问题或者⾃顾⾃地把受害⼈要说的话全说了。 • Don’t repeatedly ask the victim to repeat their disclosure. • 不要让受害⼈重复陈述事情的经过。 • Don’t discuss the referral with anyone who does not need to know. • 不要和任何不必要的⼈谈论转介的事情。 • Don’t be judgmental. • 不要妄加评论。 • Never ignore what you have been told or pass it on. • 不要忽视你听到或者传达的信息。
