6. Once aiming towards the original starting point, centralise the tiller and hold course, tacking at the original starting point. Then repeat the process to steer towards the next windward goal point.

8. Once the students are able to sail on a close-reach course, the Instructor should progressively return downwind so the students resume sailing back on a beam-reach course before ending the session and coming ashore.
