If the correct answers are given, then it’s likely that an efficient brief has been given. A tell-tale sign of a poor briefing is when you move away to start the task, the students get into a huddle.
Allowing students the opportunity to make and correct their mistakes before you offer support can provide a good learning opportunity. It can also help to illustrate a point, but only if appropriate.
Good instructing and coaching allows students to learn in a variety of ways and is one important element of the Instructor’s toolbox. Providing effective and constructive feedback during a debrief or review will help the student understand more and maximise that learning.
