This site is situated at 400m altitude between two lakes at the gateway to Savoie and the Alps. A good base for sightseeing, there are châteaux, museums, archaeological sites, caves, parks and medieval towns to visit – some are close by, others will involve a day trip. The site staff are happy to provide information. There are markets nearby in Pont de Beauvoisin, La Tour du Pin, Vairon and Les Abrets.
Camping le Coin Tranquille is a well-run, attractive and friendly site, which has good sized pitches separated by hedges and flowering shrubs, with some shade from trees. There are several sanitary blocks spread out around the site that are kept very clean. All blocks have toilets, individual washing and shower cubicles. There is a well stocked shop, although some food has to be ordered in advance. The family-run restaurant and bar, which are also open to the public, close on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. A BBQ with music is organised every Wednesday night from 1 June to 15 September, which can continue until midnight.
EXTRA COMMENT Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

The site is situated at Chaparon near Doussard, about 13 miles/21km from Annecy and 19 miles/31km from Albertville. There are many excellent scenic walks in this picturesque mountain area. Located near the Lac d’Annecy, Doussard is ideal for watersports and boating in particular, as well as cycling, with a cycle track of over 18 miles/30km.
Camping le Taillefer is a small, family-run site where the emphasis is placed on welcoming the touring caravanner. The site is steeply terraced which can make access to a few pitches difficult, but offers fantastic views of the mountains. It is not far from the lake, has a bar, a small farm shop, a snack bar and a take-away meal service in the high season. The older style but clean sanitary block houses showers and toilets. The emphasis here is on peace and quiet with no organised entertainment.
