Camping La Piodella belongs to the Touring Club Suisse chain of sites and enjoys a lakeside position on the northern shore of Lake Lugano, just a few miles from Lugano itself. This site is a good base for exploring the Italian speaking part of Switzerland. Italy is just across the border with Lake Como, Lake Maggiore and Milan all within easy reach.

This busy site has numbered pitches with some shade, which may be difficult for larger outfits to access as they are on average 80m2. There are two sanitary blocks on site, one new and the other refurbished, but both with modern facilities. There is a grass beach and a marina from where you can launch boats. Lugano airport is a short way from the site and there is frequent aircraft noise. Members staying 3 or more nights will be given a pass for reductions off tourist attractions in the area. A children’s club and evening entertainment are also organised in high season.

EXTRA COMMENT This site is very busy in high season. In all cases cars must be left in the car park. Cats are not permitted. Maximum of 2 dogs per pitch. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Camping de Vidy is located next to the headquarters of the International Olympic Organisation and adjacent to Lake Geneva in the city of Lausanne. From the lakeside port of Ouchy, it is possible to look out across the harbour and the lake to the mountains and in season to watch the passenger boats making the crossing between the French and Swiss shores of the lake. There is a frequent free bus service into the greater Lausanne area, with the free pass available from the site.

Situated adjacent to Lake Geneva and parkland, this well maintained site lies within a few minutes’ drive of the motorway and has direct access on foot or by bike to the lake. The flat pitches (80m2) have easy access and are numbered. There are three sanitary blocks, all offering good facilities and one of them is heated in winter. One disposal point is accessed via steps. There is a restaurant/bar on site next to the lake which is also open to the public and which offers some entertainment in season. There are many statics on site.

EXTRA COMMENT BBQs are permitted but they must be at least 0.5m off the ground. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
