Camping Le Haras is in the small village of Palau del Vidre. From the site it is just a short walk into the village, where members can see the traditional glass blowing in the Palais du Verre (from which the village takes its name). The beaches of Argelès and the Spanish border are within easy reach.

Le Haras is a small, family-run site set around former farm buildings. The site is beautifully kept and maintained with over 600 plants, flowers and trees which are all labelled. The pitches are a good size, and generally easy to access, but the odd tree might cause some problems. The 2 sanitary blocks are kept very clean. Although the emphasis is on peace and quiet, the site does organise some entertainment in high season and can become busy. The restaurant serves traditional French and Catalan cuisine. This site is ideal for those who want to visit the area but do not want the bustle of seaside sites. Although concerts are organised on Tuesdays and Thursdays during high season.

EXTRA COMMENT Maximum 1 dog per pitch. Dogs in categories 1 & 2 not permitted. Please see pages 10 & 11 for further details. Pets must be kept on a lead at all times.

Set in over 60 acres of pine trees, mimosa and cork oaks, Domaine des Naïades offers shady pitches within a short drive of the Gulf of St Tropez. This site has a heated Olympic- sized swimming-pool with two slides, a children’s pool and a restaurant bar with evening entertainment. Traditional customs and festivities, lovely surroundings and the background hum of the cicadas add flavour to this popular holiday destination. Families are made welcome with the emphasis on peaceful enjoyment of the site’s facilities.

The site offers daytime activities in high season, including a children’s and sports club, boules competitions, water-gym and in the evening, family cabaret night and dances. There are numerous statics positioned around the site. The site is terraced with lots of steps which could cause problems for less able members, and access to some pitches difficult for large outfits. The site offers a very warm welcome and is popular and well suited to family holidays.

EXTRA COMMENT During July and August a bracelet must be worn when using the swimming pool. These are supplied free from reception. Maximum 2 pets per pitch. Dogs in categories 1 & 2 not permitted. Please see pages 10 & 11 for further details.
