Lying on Portugal’s west coast, about 0.5 miles/0.8km from a sandy bay and close to the town of Cascais, Camping Orbitur Guincho is one of 21 in the Orbitur chain. Its location means it is well placed for those who wish to visit this stretch of coastline as well as Estoril, Setubal, Sintra and of course Lisbon (public transport is recommended – there is a metro from Cascais to Lisbon).
This site is open in appearance on sandy, undulating ground with few marked pitches, most shaded by pine trees and some on open ground. There are chalets and all-year seasonal caravans on site. Pitches on Portuguese sites tend to be small and can be tight for larger outfits, and care should be taken of low overhanging branches. The three sanitary blocks are well maintained on a daily basis, but may be stretched in high season. Motor caravan owners have a purpose-built ‘camper station’. There is entertainment during the daytime for children and in the evenings for families in high season. The site is very busy in high season.
EXTRA COMMENT Traffic is not allowed on site between 23.00-07.00. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. This site is also available to book during the winter months via our 2011/12 Winter Escapes brochure.

This site is ideally located for exploring the beaches of Odeceixe, Carvalhal and Almograve, as well as the village of Zambujeira, with beautiful sea views and coastal paths. From sailing on the Mira river, visiting traditional ports, to guided tours in the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo, there is plenty to do in this beautiful area.
Zmar Eco Camping Resort is a very large, newly built site that has been designed to make the best use of ecologically friendly, renewable resources, and aims to blend into the surroundings. From the use of solar energy to the dual-flush toilets, the site is specifically designed to have minimal impact on the environment. The grassy pitches of around 98m2 are marked out by small shrubs and can be partly shaded. A wellness centre and spa complex is available for the use of guests (at an extra cost). There is also a camper’s lounge, a self-service restaurant and a large outdoor and indoor pool.
EXTRA COMMENT Dogs in categories 1 & 2 are not permitted. Please see pages 10 & 11 for further details. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. This site is also available to book during the winter months via our 2011/12 Winter Escapes brochure.
