Camping de Paal is a family-run site set in shady woodland 12.5 miles/20km south-west of Eindhoven. The site is ideally placed for families with children who wish to visit the Efteling Theme Park, the Safari Park at Hilvarenbeek, the bird park at Oisterwijk and the Museum of Textiles at Tilburg. Fishing, horseriding, golf, watersports and diving are all available nearby.

The spacious pitches are in groups; either in full sun or in shade, each with its own small play area for children. There is a central play area with a wooden fortress and sandpit and another has swings and seesaws under cover. There is a shallow pool and a small zoo with goats, rabbits and a pony. There are four main toilet blocks with modern facilities, chemical disposal points and baby changing rooms. The covered/outdoor pool complex is free and activities are organised for children. There is also an entertainment centre. Parking areas are close by and pitches are numbered.

EXTRA COMMENT English is spoken, but signs are in Dutch. Credit cards are not accepted on site. Pets are not permitted on site.

This site is located near Harderwijk and is well situated for visiting Doornspijk and the attractive fishing town of Elburg, which dates from the 13th century and is surrounded by a moat and ramparts. Other attractions include the ‘Dolfinarium’ at Harderwijkand and Six Flags Holland – the Rollercoaster capital of Europe and the ‘Flevohof’ theme park for farming and agriculture. Nearby Apeldoorn has the Royal Palace of Het Loo with its beautiful gardens.

This busy site has its own small beach and marina on the shallow end of Lake Veluwe. Free introductory lessons in windsurfing and sailing are available for children. Catamaran sailing, rowing, canoeing, fishing and water skiing are also possible. The beaches and woods surrounding the site offer many opportunities for walking. There is a large static presence situated away from touring pitches. Each pitch is well marked out on sandy soil, the sanitary blocks are of a good standard and cars are parked in parking areas. This site’s emphasis is very much on watersports.

EXTRA COMMENT Maximum of 1 dog per pitch. There is an extra charge for showers.
