Camping I Pini is situated on the outskirts of Rome in the town of Fiano Romano and is an ideal base for exploring the eternal city. For those who do not wish to drive into Rome, the site runs a daily bus service, and also offers a selection of tours in and around the city. In addition, Camping I Pini is well situated for visiting Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius and regular excursions are organised by the site.
This tidy, family run site is well laid out, with pitches of approximately 90m2. As always in Italy, access may be difficult for larger outfits. There is one well maintained sanitary block, with disabled facilities. Whilst much of your time will probably be spent sightseeing, the site does have a range of comfortable facilities, making it a good place to stop and recharge your batteries too! A programme of entertainment is organised in high season including aqua gym, football and cabaret.
EXTRA COMMENT The bus to Rome costs 8 euros for a return ticket.

Conveniently situated close to the Exhibition Centre on the city ring road (Tangenziale), Camping Hotel Città di Bologna provides a good base for exploring the historic city of Bologna and other cities in the area, such as Ravenna and Ferrara. The chalets on-site are used by visitors to the Trade Fairs at the Fiera as well as tourists visiting the area. However, its central location means there is some road and aircraft noise.
A bus service runs from the campsite gate into the city centre for a supplement. On returning from a day’s sightseeing, the site provides an open-air swimming pool to cool off in on hot summer days. The clean, modern, heated sanitary block also provides laundry facilities. Grass and hard-standing pitches are provided with access along straight avenues which could be difficult with large outfits. The English-speaking staff are friendly and helpful. Milk and bread can be pre-ordered from the snack bar.
EXTRA COMMENT Access to pitches could be difficult for larger outfits. Dogs must be kept on a lead.
