Donaupark Tulln is situated about 25 miles/40km to the north west of Vienna, in the town of Tulln which is an attractive Roman town bordering the famous River Danube. Vienna can be reached in about thirty minutes by car. In July and August, the site runs a bus to and from the train station for transfer to Vienna for a small charge. Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace, the Spanish Riding School and the Hofburg are among the many sights well worth a visit.
The campsite is made up of six separate touring sections set out in circles. The sunny pitches are well laid out and shrubs have been planted to separate them. Guided walks are organised in the town of Tulln every week and horseriding, water-skiing and fishing (permit required) are also available nearby. The campsite manager also organises cycle tours of the surrounding area. Extensive information on things to do in the surrounding area, as well as the many attractions of Vienna, can be obtained from reception, where it is even possible to buy a Vienna card which eases travelling in the centre of the city.
EXTRA COMMENT Members have found it difficult finding the site using satellite navigation. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
