This site is located at the gateway to the Gorges du Loup, between the medieval village of St Paul-de-Vence and Grasse. Nice is only a short drive away, as are the beaches of the ever-popular Côte d’Azur. Whilst many members will use this site as a base for a seaside holiday, there is much more to do in the area, including walking, visiting museums and Marineland at Antibes.

Le Vallon Rouge is situated on the banks of the river Loup, with a variety of trees offering a good degree of shade. Pitches are all clearly marked out. The campsite is flat, although access is down a very steep and winding drive. Members should park in the designated area on the public road, then go on foot to reception who will confirm clearance to use the road. There are organised activities during high season, much of which centres around the large swimming pool. The use of barbecues may be restricted in case of drought or high winds and there is a steep drop from the pitches down to a shallow river.

EXTRA COMMENT Dogs in categories 1 & 2 not permitted. Please see pages 10 & 11 for further details.

This site is situated in the mountains of the Massif d’Esterel, a short drive inland from the seaside resort of Agay. St Raphael, Fréjus and Nice are all within easy reach. The perfume town of Grasse also makes an interesting day out.

The site is set on terraces, with well-marked out pitches of 70m2-80m2. A limited number of large pitches are available on request for a supplement, as are pitches with their own facilities. There are three well-equipped sanitary blocks, two of which have been refurbished to a high standard and are kept extremely clean. Esterel Caravaning offers a wide range of facilities to attract all members of the family, including five outdoor pools and one indoor pool specifically for children. There is entertainment all season, especially in July and August when the site can become very busy. The site also organises excursions to places of interest, including the Gorges du Verdon, Monaco and St Tropez by night. This area is great for golf, and the site has discounts with eight local clubs. There is a large static presence.

EXTRA COMMENT BBQs are not permitted. Access to pitches can be tight in places. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs in categories 1 & 2 must be muzzled. Please see pages 10 & 11 for further details.
