A member of the Les Castels chain, this site is near Guines, 6 miles/ 10km from Calais, ideal if you are touring abroad for the first time.
This site has a high level of comfort and facilities. The Aqualud pool and restaurant complex in Le Touquet, Montreuil with its cobbled streets and ramparts, Boulogne’s seafood restaurants and the fine beach at Wissant are all nearby.
The site is in the grounds of a 19th century mansion, still surrounded by its original moats. The grassy pitches, which are easy to access, are served by modern, well appointed toilet blocks with one block heated in the winter. The converted farm buildings house chambres d’hôte and site facilities including the shop and bar. The pool can be covered or uncovered and has a waterslide. The site also has links with a nearby golf course. This site is more than an overnight stop and remember to allow plenty of time for shopping at the hypermarkets in Calais.
EXTRA COMMENT You should plan to arrive before 22.30 and advise the English-speaking staff at the site of any change in your plans.

Château de Drancourt is situated in St Valery-sur-Somme, a natural harbour and medieval town with a rich heritage, 25 miles/40km
south of Le Touquet. There is a bird sanctuary on the river estuary nearby. Paris is close enough for a day trip (by car or weekly coach excursions) so visits to some of the most famous Parisian sites are possible!
The site is located in the grounds of the inhabited château, with hedges marking out some pitches, some with shade and some slightly sloping. A two-storey building houses toilet and washing facilities as well as a recreation room. In addition, there are two other toilet blocks. In high season, there are organised sports activities and a disco for the younger members of the family. Keen golfers will welcome the driving range on site. The restaurant is open for weekends only in May and June, and closed every Wednesday all season.
EXTRA COMMENT This site is always bustling, even in low season and facilities may be stretched at peak times.
