Camping Manor Farm is set on the banks of Lake Thun near Interlaken and offers magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. It is ideally placed for hiking and many visitors take the local cable car or chair lifts to experience the breathtaking views of the mountain ranges. Trips can be taken on lake steamers sailing from Neuhaus.
This large site is split into two sections by the Thun-Interlaken road and members may be allocated pitches on either side, with some noise reported on pitches next to the road. The pitches, average size 80m2, are individually marked out, but space is limited especially in the busy high season, when this site can be noisy. The site boasts a small private beach on the lakeside from where unsupervised swimming, sailing and fishing are possible. Two restaurants adjoin the site. The local tax, included in the site price, includes a pass for free local bus service in Interlaken area.
EXTRA COMMENT In order to use the water connection on special pitches, members need a hose with a pressurised valve fitting. Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. Maximum one dog per pitch.

The site is situated next to the unfenced lake at Sempach (open to the public). Lucerne is within easy reach for sightseeing and boat trips. The two-hour train journey from Alpnachstad to the summit of Pilatus-Kulm is a must as it includes a stretch of rack railway whose 1:2 gradient is the steepest in the world for this form of traction.
There are 200 touring pitches of average size on site but they are without lake views, plus there are many statics and seasonal pitches, all of which are on grass – mostly in full sun but some with shade. Entertainment is organised in high season when the site becomes extremely busy, and separate parking spaces are provided for cars. The beach, lakeside area and restaurant are open to the public. Visitors can enjoy the easy lakeside walk to Sempach. Table tennis is available nearby at no extra charge to members staying on site.
EXTRA COMMENT This site becomes very busy in high season. Maximum 2 dogs per pitch. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
