The site, surrounded by wheat fields, sunflowers and woods, is situated close to the 11th century village of La Romieu in the little known Gers region and is an ideal base for exploring the foothills of the Pyrénées, and the famous towns of Pau, Bordeaux, Lourdes and Toulouse. There are also countless fortified villages, abbeys and castles in the region to visit.
This attractive site has level, grassy pitches. Most offer shade and some have beautiful views over the Gascony countryside. The Dutch owners are friendly and speak good English. There is a large swimming pool with a gently sloping entry rather like a beach, and a children’s pool. There are excursions and organised entertainment including Tropical evenings and Sangria soirées. The restaurant is housed in the 19th century farmhouse. Although there is no shop on site, bread and croissants are available each morning, and there are small shops nearby.
EXTRA COMMENT Maximum 2 pets per pitch. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Château de Lacomté Country Club is an Adult Only site situated in the Lot-Quercy department, between the magnificent Dordogne and the scenic Lot valley. There are many historical sites in the area for day trips, including the medieval city of Rocamadour, a site of pilgrimage since the 12th century, just 7.5 miles/12km away. Also nearby is Padirac with its extraordinary cave system, over 100m/300ft deep. South of the site is the regional capital of Cahors, along with almost 200 vineyards.
The emphasis at Château de Lacomté is very much on peace and quiet, but some evening entertainment is organised on site. The site has a spacious feel and is sited in 32 acres of parkland. The large grassy pitches are around 110m2 and marked out by hedges. Some evening entertainment is organised in high season, such as quiz nights and BBQ band nights. There are also local excursions, including vineyard visits and boat trips, which can be arranged by the site.
