Site Discount Scheme
Are you planning to holiday outside of the July and August peak season? If so you might like to think about taking advantage of our low season discount scheme, ‘Camping Cheque’. ‘Camping Cheque’ allows you to pay in advance for a minimum of seven nights in the low season, with each cheque costing £13.95. This scheme also enables you to take advantage of our specially negotiated low ITX ferry fares (particularly valuable on the longer routes).
CAMPING CHEQUE
This scheme is ideal for members who want to pay for some or all of their site bookings in advance and so not have to worry about exchange rates or taking a lot of extra currency. It is also particularly worthwhile for members who want a degree of flexibility but also intend to use a ferry route where ITX fares are particularly advantageous. Whilst this is primarily a low season scheme, the dates on which these Cheques are accepted vary widely between sites, and so for this reason there are now no restrictions on the dates they can be purchased. Each Cheque costs £13.95.
In 2011 the scheme includes over 600 sites throughout Europe which are detailed in the directory accompanying all Camping Cheque bookings. All Camping Cheque participating sites have been inspected and quality is monitored. They are not accepted into the scheme on the basis of advertising, unlike some other schemes. For those members looking for some advance notification of site locations, the directory may be purchased by calling our brochure line on 01342 327410. Please note that no refund may be made for this purchase irrespective of whether a booking is then made.
In 2010 Camping Cheque launched a
Cheque 12 Camping
new Silver Card and this is continuing for the 2011 season. The Silver Card, which can be loaded with Camping Cheques electronically, is similar to the present Gold Card scheme. However, there are fewer benefits and each Cheque will still only be valid for 2 years rather than 4 years with a Gold Card.
Camping Cheques may not be used for payment for any pitches reserved in advance through The Club’s Travel Service, when the rate shown in this brochure will apply. Some sites appearing in the Camping Cheque directory will allow payment to be made by Camping Cheques if an advance booking has been made direct with the site, but this MUST be clarified with the site at the time of booking.
Each Camping Cheque is valid for one night’s stay for up to two people plus car / caravan, trailer tent or motor caravan and includes electricity. The cost of any local tourist tax or other services (e.g. water/drainage connections) is excluded and must be paid direct to the site management.
The Club can only supply Camping Cheques as part of a package which must include your ferry crossing and at least 7 Camping Cheques. The lowest possible ferry fare available at the time of booking will always be used. You may order any number of Camping Cheques (minimum 7) at an additional cost of £13.95 per Cheque, providing the member does not exceed the duration between outbound and inward travel.
Please note unused Camping Cheques above the minimum purchase of 7 may be refunded if they have not been written on. There will be a minimum charge of the value of one Cheque.
The Caravan Club will be able to issue these Silver Cards for a small fee initially at a special offer price of £2.50 (usually £5.00). It will then take one telephone call to our Travel Service to purchase your Cheques which will then be physically credited to your card at your first site. We shall also in future be offering a similar service to existing Gold Card holders. However, please note we will not actually be issuing the Gold Cards.
It is important still to note that it will remain a condition of the purchase of Camping Cheques through The Club that a ferry crossing is purchased at the same time.
