Camping Fontanelle is situated on the south western shore of Lake Garda, 5.6 miles/9km north of Desenzano. It is within walking distance of Moniga del Garda, the departure point for excursions to Venice, Verona and Florence; Milan is also only a daytrip away. Lake Garda is beautiful and boat trips provide a relaxing alternative to driving to the bordering towns which are well tended with a profusion of flower filled gardens and pleasant lakeside walks.

The campsite, which has little shade, is terraced with some of the pitches sloping slightly. Swimming is possible in the lake and boats may be launched from the site’s own small, pebbly beach. There is an emphasis on creating a family atmosphere and some entertainment is organised in high season, such as live music in the bar in July and August. Members have commented on the friendliness of the staff, but say that walking may be difficult for elderly and disabled people. This site is very popular with our members, but access is via narrow village roads which can be difficult for larger outfits.

EXTRA COMMENT No arrivals after 23.00 hours. Lakeside pitches are not available in high season. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

This site is near Treporti on the Adriatic coast, with direct access to a sandy beach. A stay here combines the dual attractions of a beach holiday with sightseeing in Venice. There can be no more spectacular way to arrive in Venice than by sea and from Camping Ca’ Savio it is possible to take a bus or to drive to Punta Sabbioni (the ferry port). Cars can be left in a car park before making the 40-minute ferry crossing to San Zaccaria, near to St Mark’s Square. Excursions can also be organised from the site reception.

This very large, commercial site is well laid out and subdivided by trees and hedges. Access to some pitches might be tight for larger outfits. The main access road through the site links the pitches with all the other facilities including the shop, pool and restaurant. There are many activities, including evening entertainment, disco and circus shows; watersports are possible at the beach. This site becomes very busy in high season.

EXTRA COMMENT Pets not accepted on site. BBQs are not permitted. No arrivals after 23.00 hours. Pup tents are not permitted. Twin axle caravans must be requested in low season.
