FERRY SERVICES
LD LINES/TRANSMANCHE
LD Lines have again changed their routes and ships for 2011.
They have closed their Dover to Boulogne route due to lack of demand and so their only services immediately bookable through The Club's Travel Service will be their Newhaven to Dieppe and Portsmouth to Le Havre operations. The ‘Norman Arrow’ fast craft has most recently been operating on the Le Havre route but at the time of printing this brochure this has yet to be confirmed for 2011.
LD Lines will also be operating a new service from St Nazaire to Gijon (Spain) as well as continuing their co-operation with Transeuropa Ferries on the service from Ramsgate to Ostend. We hope to be offering both these services to members by early in the new year.
IRISH FERRIES
For caravan or camping holidays in Ireland, Irish Ferries – the low fares ferry company – will carry you in comfort across the Irish Sea.
Two vessels operate on the Holyhead/ Dublin route with two return crossings per ship each day. On the route from Pembroke to Rosslare there are two crossings daily.
Facilities on board all Irish Ferries’ ships make the crossing an enjoyable part of the holiday. Relax in panoramic lounges, enjoy a meal or drink in the bars and restaurants or, if travelling to Dublin on the cruise ferry Ulysses, enjoy a current movie release in the cinema.
On the Dublin/Holyhead route there is also an optional ‘Club Class’ upgrade with reserved seating, an exclusive lounge with complimentary snacks and drinks, plus discounts in the on-board shops.
Whatever option you choose, you should arrive relaxed and refreshed, ready to enjoy the delights of a camping or caravan holiday in Ireland.
P&O FERRIES
P&O Ferries is the first choice for many members using the company's services to France, Holland and Belgium, the P&O name being synonymous with quality and reliability.
With an investment of €360m, P&O will take delivery of two state of the art ferries in 2011 which will be the largest vessels ever constructed for the Dover to Calais route. The first of these, Spirit of Britain, will enter service in January 2011 and the second, Spirit of France, in September 2011. They will both have a dedicated third vehicle deck which means that caravans and motor caravans can be parked well away from freight vehicles. These new vessels will have an enhanced onboard shopping experience, eateries, relaxation areas and a child friendly area.
For members travelling from the north of England, P&O services from Hull to Zeebrugge and Rotterdam offer excellent overnight services with great on board facilities.
The Club has a range of offers on all routes throughout 2011.
