Mobility platform NL-NRW approves the working agenda on transport & mobility. Provinces of Overijssel, Gelderland, Limburg, Brabant, Zuid-Holland and North Rhine-Westphalia join forces in their efforts to decarbonize freight transport with an initial emphasis on inland shipping.


Delivery of the EU funded RH₂INE Kickstart-study, highlighting the need for standardization using tanktainers and gaseous H₂ and first assessments for bunkering locations. The report is initiated by the Port of Duisburg, RheinCargo and Port of Rotterdam together with NRW and PZH, setting a true blueprint for EU cross border cooperation.

The annual RH₂INE conference takes place in Duisburg, aligning ambitions and initiatives of already more than 30 public and private partners from North- West Europe. An extended group of several EU regions from 3 countries initiates first discussions to establish a joint secretariat.

15 partners sign the Letter of Intent forming the initial RH₂INE network at the 3rd Combined Energy Conference NL-NRW in Arnhem. Their goal is to facilitate a zero-emission transport corridor along the Rhine, realising 12 vessels and 4 bunkering locations in 2025.


June 2022


RH₂INE delegation presents progress to the European Commission at the Connecting EU Days in Lyon. Meeting participants stress the need for, and importance of, relevant and adequate funding.


May 2023


Launch of the CONDOR H₂ project at the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam in Ahoy. The CONDOR project aims to remove hurdles in order to accelerate the transition of Zero Emission Inland Waterway transport by using containerised hydrogen.
