DAY 1 UK to Zurich Today you’ll fly to Zurich, then transfer to the alpine resort of Interlaken by train. This traditional town is set between two picturesque lakes, and in the company of a Local Guide, we’ll head off on a walking tour this afternoon. One highlight is the Hoheweg, a promenade lined with Victorian shops and welcoming restaurants.


Back at the hotel, you can get to know your travelling companions further over a drink before dinner this evening.


DAY 2 Thun After a leisurely breakfast we’ll head to the station and board a train to Thun. This medieval city, located at the lower end of Lake Thun, is the gateway to the Bernese Oberland. On a guided walking

Next, we’ll enjoy the fabulous mountain scenery that surrounds us from a different perspective, as we take a relaxing cruise on Lake Thun. As we soak up the sights we’ll be served lunch on board.


This evening, we’ll gather as a group for dinner at the hotel.


DAY 3 Snowshoeing & Schilthorn Mountain A day of adventure begins with the chance to try snowshoeing in the Lauterbrunnen Valley. This ancient and efficient mode of transport simply involves wearing specially designed snowshoes which distribute your weight

over a larger area, so that you don’t sink in the snow. All the equipment we need is provided, including a snack and a drink. We’ll then set off on an exciting two-hour guided trek through the stunning alpine scenery.


The next part of our journey is taken by cable car as we ascend the Schilthorn – known as ‘007 Mountain’. Situated at the top is a revolving restaurant, Piz Gloria, which was used as the location for Blofeld’s headquarters in the 1969 James Bond film ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’. This is where lunch is served, and as well as enjoying a delicious meal, we’ll also be able to savour fantastic views of more than 200 mountain peaks as the restaurants slowly revolves.


After lunch we’ll take the cable car down to Mürren, a pretty village which we can explore on foot before our return rail journey to Interlaken.


DAY 4 GoldenPass Line to Gstaad There’s another chance to enjoy spectacular scenery today. This time it’s from the comfort of the GoldenPass train as we journey to the village of Gstaad, a favourite amongst the rich and famous.


Wander its traffic-free streets and admire charming chalets, designer boutiques and gourmet restaurants. Later, we are treated to a horse-and- carriage ride around the resort, which is sure to be a real highlight of our day.


We’ll head to a restaurant this evening for a farewell dinner. Afterwards there’s time to explore Interlaken, which is transformed into a winter wonderland featuring ice rinks, market stalls and magical illuminations.


DAY 5 Zurich to UK Today we’ll transfer to the airport for the flight back to the UK.
