DAY 4 South Gobi Desert We’ll fly to the Gobi Desert and Gobi National Park. The rest of the day will be spent in the Yoi Valley with its splendid backdrop of the Three Beauties mountain range and abundant wildlife. We’ll spend the first of 9 nights in a traditional ger – a large, round tent.

DAY 5 Khongor Sand Dunes Today we head to Khongor Sand Dunes, also known as the Singing Dunes, which we’ll climb for views of the spectacular sunset.


DAY 6 ‘Flaming Cliffs’ We’ll drive to Byanazag, or the ‘Flaming Cliffs’, today. Later we’ll visit a camel breeding family and experience the traditional hospitality of the Mongolian nomads.


DAY 7 Ongi Monastery Our journey takes us north to the ruins of the Ongi Monastery, dating back to the 17th century.


DAY 8 Karakorum Our destination today is Karakorum, the former capital of the Great Mongol Empire. We’ll visit the vast Erdene-Zuu Monastery, which stands on the ruins of the ancient capital.


DAYS 9 & 10 Tsenkher Hot Springs We’ll drive to the Tsenkher Hot Springs and enjoy a relaxing two-night break at this natural spa.


DAY 11 Lake Ugii We’ll travel into Arkhangi province to the tranquil shores of Lake Ugii. This freshwater lake is home to a wealth of wildlife.


DAY 12 Hustain Nuruu National Park In Hustain Nuruu National Park, we’ll search for the Takhi – Mongolia’s last surviving species of wild horse.


DAY 13 Ulaanbaatar We’ll drive to Ulaanbaatar today. We’ll gather as a group for a farewell dinner and a performance of folklore tonight.


DAY 14 Ulaanbaatar to UK Today we fly back to the UK via Beijing.

You can extend your holiday with this 2-night extension, staying at the Crowne Plaza U-Town (4-star) on a bed-and-breakfast basis. On Day 1 (Day 14 of the main tour) you’ll fl y to Beijing, arriving in the afternoon. We include sightseeing in Beijing with visits to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City and there will be free time on Wangfujing Street for shopping. On Day 2 we include a full-day excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, where we’ll take a cable car to the top for wonderful views. We’ll also visit a renowned Lama temple, and a picnic lunch and dinner are included today. A Just You Tour Manager will accompany you throughout.

the 4-star Kempinski Hotel. Facilities include three restaurants, a bar and spa. Bedrooms feature private facilities, TV, safe and tea/coff ee-making facilities.


For the rest of the tour you will stay in your own traditonal ger camp. Accommodation will be in basic, traditional gers, also known as yurts, with shared separate bathroom facilities. There is a central restaurant in each camp, serving traditional Mongolian cuisine and there will be limited electricity through the day. These dwellings have a history going back more than 2,500 years and staying in one is a truly authentic experience.
