DAY 1 UK to Yangon You’ll fly to Yangon, arriving on day 2.


DAY 2 Yangon Although no longer Burma’s capital, Yangon, formerly Rangoon, is the country’s largest and most populous city. On our included tour we’ll visit the Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda where we’ll see a magnificent 70m long reclining Buddha. We’ll then pause to admire the Royal Lake in Kandawgyi Park, where we’ll glimpse the ornate Karaweik Hall, a stunning reproduction royal barge.

DAY 3 Mandalay With the remains of the old Royal City and many monasteries, Mandalay is a showcase for art and 19th century architecture and we’ll fly here this morning. A highlight of our orientation tour is the revered Mahamuni Pagoda, where we’ll see an exceptional Buddha


image covered in a thick layer of gold leaf, applied daily by male devotees.

As the sun begins to set, take a boat trip on the lake from where you’ll see unforgettable images of daily life.
