KENYA
TOUR
Breakfast, Masai Mara
Rift Valley
Masai Mara
where you’ll discover one of the largest populations of rhino in Kenya – one of the ‘Big Five’, which also includes lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo. We’ll see how many we can spot on a late- afternoon game drive. LAKE NAKURU LODGE, LAKE NAKURU
DAY 6 Masai Mara Game Reserve Today we have an early start, but the rewards come thick and fast as we drive south-west through the Great Rift Valley and into the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. It is home to an enthralling array of wildlife – and each year is the setting for the great migration, when thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River to the greener pastures of the Serengeti.
After lunch en route, we’ll arrive at our base for the next two nights, the Ashnil Mara Tented Camp, where our accommodation is in luxury tents. After an afternoon game drive, why not join your travelling companions for drinks around the bar’s roaring fire before dinner. Overlooking the Mara River, the restaurant is a wonderful vantage point from which to see and hear a large, and vocal, population of hippos. ASHNIL MARA TENTED CAMP, MASAI MARA
DAY 7 Masai Mara Game Reserve We’ll head out into the bush early this morning to see even more of the Masai Mara’s incredible sights. Afterwards we have a wonderful treat in store – breakfast set up in the open savannah.
On arrival back at the lodge, spend the rest of the morning relaxing by the pool before a leisurely lunch and a late- afternoon game drive. ASHNIL MARA TENTED CAMP, MASAI MARA
DAY 8 Nairobi After breakfast on day 8 we’ll leave the Masai Mara and journey back to Nairobi, enjoying the sights as we travel through the reserve. The long drive will reward us with intriguing snapshots of daily life in Kenya as we pass through local villages – be sure to return the waves and smiles of children making their long treks to school. On arrival enjoy lunch in a peaceful garden restaurant before transferring to your Nairobi hotel for dinner and overnight stay. EKA HOTEL, NAIROBI
DAY 9 Nairobi/UK Morning transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
Please note: This holiday includes walking in areas of rough ground, gradients and steps with little or no hand rails to offer assistance.
