DAY 4 Lake Constance Lake Constance is a huge freshwater lake located on the River Rhine and surrounded by affluent towns. From the German shore it is framed by a dramatic backdrop of Swiss mountain peaks, and this is where we are heading today.
Our first stop on today’s full-day tour is Ravensburg, which is close to the lake. the town is known for its towers and gates, not to mention a host of excellent shopping opportunities, so perhaps look out for some souvenirs of your holiday here.
Kressbronn is our next stop and here we will take a guided tour of a brewery and enjoy a tasting of local beer. We then continue on to Lindau, whose
pretty harbour and pleasant old town are situated right on the shores of Lake Constance. Our day is rounded off with a leisurely boat trip to Bregenz in Austria, offering us beautiful scenic views.
DAY 5 Graubünden & St Moritz The Swiss canton of Graubünden is an area teeming with traditional charm. From Tiefencastel, our included excursion today takes us by train to the beautiful and chic Swiss resort of St Moritz, a regular haunt of the rich and famous.
In the company of your Tour Manager and travelling companions enjoy a stroll through its streets, which are lined with traditional architecture and high-end boutiques, before our return journey by coach. We’ll drive via the Julier Pass and medieval Chur, capital of the canton of Graubünden and the oldest city in Switzerland.
DAY 6 Bregenz & the Swiss Shore of Lake Constance After breakfast we’ll travel by coach to Rorschach on the Swiss shore of Lake Constance. Here, we’ll take a cruise through the Alten Rhein nature reserve to Altenrhein. Next, we’ll board a coach and travel to Bregenz, the principal town of Vorarlberg where we will be taken on a guided tour of the stage and the floating backstage of the Bregenz Festival. Afterwards there’s some free time to take a stroll along the shore of the lake or browse the shops.
This evening we’ll gather as a group to enjoy a farewell get-together and dinner.
DAY 7 Zurich to UK We transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK today.
