Our Tour Managers

Our exceptional Tour Managers are the perfect hosts on every Just You holiday. They work closely with Local Guides to show you the very best of a destination, from the iconic landmarks to the hidden gems, and are always on hand if you need tips, advice or just a friendly chat. You can meet some of the team here.

Yvette Barnett Africa, Canada, USA, the Far East & South America

“My background has always been in travel. You could say it’s in my blood. I lived in Japan for a year, teaching English, and that really gave me a taste for life in the Far East. I tried to settle

into a proper job after studying law at university but I soon realised that it’s travel that is my passion!

“I’ve been working with Just You for many years and I think I’ve pretty much covered most of the brochure in that time. We often get asked what our favourite tours are and that’s a bit like picking a favourite child – they’re all your favourites for different reasons! But my all-time favourite tour will always be the polar bears in Churchill – it’s such a privilege to be there so close to the bears. My other favourite tours are Namibia and the Arizona ranch holiday.”

Caroline Rajani Middle East, Far East & Italy

“As a Tour Manager I am extremely lucky that I get to travel the world as a profession. Seeing so many wonderful places gives me endless pleasure and excitement, but what I really love

about my job is sharing these destinations with my groups.

“For me, whether touring, on a resort-stay holiday or a short break, I want to really get to know the place and its people and immerse myself in all of its delights. This is what I also encourage and assist my fellow travellers in doing.

“Every tour brings something new, that’s the beauty of travel. Whether venturing to faraway lands or countries closer to home, returning somewhere you’ve been before, or exploring somewhere for the first time, you’ll find unique experiences, different people, new flavours and more memories.”

Brian Croft South America, Australasia, USA, Canada &

the Far East

“I always dreamed of travelling the world when I was growing up in Wensleydale and started

my quest by emigrating to Australia in 1987. Things didn’t go to plan, but my travel dream did materialise with 10 years of working aboard cruise ships. Following this I eventually found my calling, and for the past 15 years I have been sharing my love of travel as a Tour Manager.

“Amongst my favourite destinations are South America, Australasia, USA and Canada and my new favourite is Japan. I used to think I loved my job because of the places I visit but I’ve come to realise it is actually the customers that I cross paths with daily – sharing with them these amazing places is what makes my daily adventures so rewarding!”

Jan McInley Italy

“I have been working as a Tour Manager with Just You since 2008. After completing a degree in the History of Art and Architecture, I fell

in love with Italy and as I have always enjoyed travel with groups, this was my ideal job.

“My tours are usually in Italy but I am happy to go anywhere in the world. I get lots of pleasure from making people’s holidays as good as I can and I honestly believe that with good organisation, planning and knowledge, a good Tour Manager can make a destination come alive for clients.

“However, the most important part of the holiday is to have a good time and make some good friends. Many of my groups have kept in touch and some have even arranged to travel together on another Just You holiday.”

Enhance your experience Guided tours where you won’t miss a word

Many of our Tour Managers now use a radio system called Vox to deliver their informative talks during tours, which means on some tours you’ll hear every word and enjoy the feeling of a one-to-one guided tour experience.

Vox radio devices are lightweight and so easy to use, with your Tour Manager’s words relayed via single-use earpieces, also suitable for use by those wearing a hearing aid. This leaves you free to completely enjoy your experience and take photographs while learning all about your destination,

whether that’s in the refined environment of a church or in the middle of a busy street.
