DAY 1 Pisa Fly to Pisa today. Meet your fellow travellers over a drink and dinner.
DAY 2 Chianti A Walk 4km - 2.5hrs
The picturesque town of Greve is our gateway to the famous Chianti wine region. We’ll head here this morning for a guided tour. Our walk starts from Badia a Passignano Monastery, founded in 890. We’ll stroll along quiet country roads, passing vineyards and olive groves and through a landscape dotted with quaint villages and farmhouses.
Before heading back to our hotel we’ll head to Castello di Verrazzano, a former Etruscan settlement which is now a winery. We’ll see its wine cellars and enjoy a tasting of Chianti on the terrace overlooking the Tuscan countryside.
DAY 3 Florence Why not join our optional tour of Florence, Italy’s ‘Art City’, today. Highlights include the Ponte Vecchio, an interesting Medieval arch bridge which spans the Arno River, the magnificent Duomo and the beautiful gothic Santa Croce church. Don’t forget to rub the nose of ‘Il Porcellino’, the bronze boar in Mercato Nuovo, and throw a few coins into the grating at its feet to ensure you return to this delightful city one day.
DAY 4 Casentino Forest B Walk 3km - 2.5hrs
Today we will take a walk through Casentino National Park, one of the oldest forests in Europe. We’ll start at the Hermitage of Camaldoli, located in a picturesque setting over 1,000 metres above sea level, and finish at the Monastery of Camaldoli.

DAY 5 Siena & San Gimignano San Gimignano and Siena are charming medieval hilltop towns which have barely changed since the Middle Ages. San Gimignano, one of the loveliest towns in Tuscany, is also known as the ‘town of beautiful towers’ due to the vast numbers that were built here by feuding families as a status symbol in medieval times.
Siena’s medieval town centre is one of the most perfectly preserved in Europe. You’re sure to be enchanted by the spectacular fan-shaped Piazza del Campo, which is the setting for the exciting and colourful Palio horse race, held twice a year. Discover both towns on today’s optional full-day visit.
DAY 6 Bagno Vignoni to Pienza C Walk 10km - 4hrs
Pienza is a small, charming village nestled amongst rolling hills and spectacular scenery. Standing high atop a hill, it boasts an array of architectural gems, including a striking Renaissance cathedral and an impressive town hall. We’ll set off from the picturesque spa resort of Bagno Vignoni to enjoy a leisurely two-and-a-half-hour walk to Pienza today, passing through lovely fields en route. On arrival, we’ll have time to sample some of the region’s local specialities including Pecorino cheese.
DAY 7 Cavriglia Today is free for you to enjoy as you wish. Perhaps join your travelling companions in an optional cookery lesson or a painting class at your hotel. Alternatively, you could take advantage of the free shuttle to a nearby village.
DAY 8 Pisa to UK Today we fly back to the UK.

There will be plenty of rest stops and time to enjoy the local scenery. Most walks take place on paths and tracks. Some walks will be slightly more strenuous and may involve moderate slopes, tracks, hills, stiles and foot bridges which may be rough underfoot at times. Sturdy walking shoes are essential.
