DAY 2 Riding Mountain National Park Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba is home to an incredibly diverse range of animal and plant species and our destination today. We’ll be served lunch on arrival at our hotel before joining a park interpreter for a guided walk of the Omminik Marsh boardwalk to find out more about this spectacular area and for the chance to see some of its wildlife, such as

Wolves have been part of the park’s landscape for thousands of years and we’ll learn more about them after an included welcome dinner. We’ll join a friendly local park interpreter around a camp fire for a talk about wolf ecology

DAY 3 Winnipeg Lake Audy features a diverse range of plants and wild flowers along with Riding Mountain’s bison herd and we’ll enjoy a driving safari here this morning. En route, a park interpreter will help us spot moose, elk and, if we’re lucky, black bear. From a viewing platform we can

see bison roaming the rough grassland plains, an increasingly rare example of a natural prairie in Canada, and discover the consequences of human intervention. We’ll also learn how to interpret bison behaviours, such as feeding, wallowing and play-fighting, differentiate cow and bull behaviour, and distinguish between plains and wood bison.
