DAY 2 Waterways of Eastern Switzerland
This morning we’ll set off on a scenic journey to Lucerne, where we stay

for two nights. We’ll take a train to Schaffhausen, and then enjoy a river cruise past the hilltop castle of Hohenklingen to Romanshorn, on the shores of Lake Constance. From here we travel by train to St Gallen and then join the Pre-Alpine Express to Lucerne. HOTEL CONTINENTAL PARK (4-STAR)
DAY 3 Lucerne & Mount Rigi During a morning at leisure why not explore Lucerne’s medieval Old Town.

Later, we’ll discover Mount Rigi, ‘Queen of the Mountains’. Our journey begins by boat, where we’ll board a train and travel on Europe’s oldest cogwheel railway – the Mount Rigi Railway - up the mountain. Continue by cogwheel train to Kaltbad, with an onward cable car ride to the village of Weggis, where there’s free time to explore before we board a paddle steamer and cruise to Lucerne.
We’ll round off our day with dinner in a unique Swiss restaurant, the Stadtkeller. We’ll also watch a traditional Swiss folklore show and sample ‘Stadtkeller’ beer. HOTEL CONTINENTAL PARK (4-STAR)
DAY 4 Lake Neuchâtel
After breakfast this morning we take a train to Neuchâtel. Highlights include the 15th century castle and Gothic-style Collegiate Church. Explore at your own pace, and perhaps enjoy lunch with your travelling companions.
This afternoon we’ll cruise to Yverdon- les-Bains and then take a train to Montreux. On arrival we’ll check into our hotel and gather as a group for dinner. GRAND SUISSE MAJESTIC (4-STAR)
DAY 5 Montreux
Nestling in Lake Geneva bay, Montreux is an attractive town surrounded by vineyards. We have left today free for you to explore at your own pace.

railway at Montreux and enjoy a one-hour ride to the summit of Rochers-de-Naye. At the viewing platform you’ll be rewarded with views over Lake Geneva and the Savoy Alps. Your journey continues to Chillon Castle, beautifully located on a rock on the banks of Lake Geneva. For nearly four centuries it was the residence of the Counts of Savoy and today it is one of Switzerland’s most visited historic buildings.
This evening we’ll take the train to Rivaz for a wine-tasting in UNESCO-listed Lavaux. We’ll enjoy three wines from the region along with some snacks. GRAND SUISSE MAJESTIC (4-STAR)
DAY 6 Geneva to UK
We’ll travel by train to Geneva airport for our flight back to the UK.
