On day 12 of the main tour you will board the your cruise ship for a four-night cruise along the Yangtze. Cruise the Three Gorges Dam, Xiling, Wuxia and Qutang Gorges before disembarking at Chongqing and transferring to Beijing for your fi nal night. DAYS 7 & 8 Chengdu We’ll fly to Chengdu today. Jinli Street is one of the city’s main streets – here you can see and sample local delicacies and visit traditional tea houses and silk workshops. We’ll visit the street and enjoy a refreshing cup of jasmine tea, at a traditional tea house, on day 7.
Leshan is a must-see location thanks to its wonderful verdant scenery and the famous Leshan Giant Buddha that casts his gaze over the Minjiang & Qingjiang rivers. The Buddha here is the tallest in the world and was carved out of the cliff by a monk of the Tang Dynasty around 713 AD. We’ll see it on day 8 during a tour that also includes a boat ride offering an alternative view of the statue. We will also see the structure from the top of the mountain and visit the nearby Lingyun temple. TIANFU SUNSHINE, CHENGDU (4-STAR)
DAY 9 Chengdu/Shanghai Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Centre is a highly regarded facility that helps to protect the rare giant panda and we will visit it this morning.

DAY 10 Shanghai Shanghai is the fastest-developing city in China, with a rich history embedded in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to uncover, and we’ll discover more on today’s included tour. At its heart is the Huangpu River, with its constant and extraordinary stream of water traffic. The Bund, the city’s famous riverside boulevard, is lined with magnificent former colonial buildings, which now stand as monuments to Shanghai’s one-time notoriety.
The labyrinth of streets in the Old Town form a stark contrast with modern Nanjing Road - Shanghai is a shopping Mecca. By night, the city is a culinary delight, with all sorts of local and international foods and entertainment that just goes on and on. Our tour takes in the Nanjing Road, the traditional Old Town, with its ancient Wu Xing Ting Teahouse, and the classic Yu Yuan Gardens. We will also visit the beautiful Jade Buddha Temple. For an alternative perspective of the exceptional Chinese
culture, we include a ticket to a Shanghai Acrobats show. JIN JIANG TOWER, SHANGHAI (4-STAR)
DAYS 11 & 12 Shanghai to UK A wonderful way to appreciate Shanghai is from the river. This afternoon we include a cruise through Shanghai along the Huangpu River. As we sail towards the East Sea we will enjoy a great view of the Bund and the tremendous skyline. Nanjing Road is awash with sparkling shopping malls and boutiques selling all manner of exciting goods. In the mid-afternoon we will head here and enjoy some time at leisure.
Tonight we will gather as a group for dinner. We will overnight in Shanghai and transfer to the airport on the morning of day 12, arriving back in the UK later the same day. JIN JIANG TOWER, SHANGHAI (4-STAR)
