DAY 1 UK to Paris Rail travel is a pleasant way to begin your holiday as you journey from St Pancras International to Paris aboard the Eurostar in just over two hours.
The French capital is an elegant city overflowing with exceptional architecture, art galleries and atmospheric districts that allude to its vibrant past. Home to the Louvre Museum, which houses the illustrious Mona Lisa, countless museums displaying a vast catalogue of Claude Monet’s finest works, the modern art hub of the Pompidou Centre, the former railway station and now art gallery Musée d’Orsay – Paris is an art-lover’s paradise.

Get to know your travelling companions over a welcome drink and dinner this evening.
DAY 2 Paris sightseeing Exploring with your Tour Manager is an ideal way to get acquainted with the delights of Paris and we spend today doing just that. As we drive through the streets we’ll pass by the city’s most famous landmarks. Notable sights include the Arc de Triomphe – the monument to Napoleon’s 1805 victory at Austerlitz – and the imposing Gothic cathedral of Notre Dame, which sits on the banks of the River Seine. Of course, there will be time for photo stops at the mighty Eiffel Tower, as well
as the world-famous Louvre and the tree-lined Champs Élysées. Perhaps you’ll choose to linger in a typically Parisienne restaurant over lunch with your travelling companions.
After freshening up back at the hotel, why not join our optional evening visit to the colourful Montmartre district, which sits on top of a hill and has been a popular destination for artists since the late 1800s when the likes of Renoir, Van Gogh and Picasso made it their home. Topped by the impressive Sacré Coeur Basilica, it’s a lovely place to enjoy a stroll as the sun sets and low lights illuminate the winding streets and pretty squares. We’ll enjoy dinner in one of the restaurants in the area too, rounding off our day in style.
DAY 3 Palace of Versailles gardens In a wealthy suburb of Paris sits the imposing Palace of Versailles, whose magnificent formal gardens offer an overwhelming feeling of grandeur. As you absorb your surroundings on today’s included excursion you will almost feel the presence of the kings and courtiers who once walked these well-trodden paths.
Later, perhaps take the opportunity to discover Paris by night with your travelling companions on our optional excursion. The city looks totally different when its iconic landmarks and monuments are lit, and we’ll take in the wonderful views from the very top of the 59-floor Montparnasse Tower, before heading to a restaurant for dinner.
DAY 4 Paris to UK Today we’ll transfer to the railway station for our journey back to the UK by Eurostar.
