This short break will introduce you to the city's fascinating architecture, which is renowned throughout the world, and you will also have the chance to ride on the Giant Ferris Wheel and explore the spectacular Schönbrunn Palace.

DAY 1 UK to Vienna Depart on your scheduled flight to Vienna, transferring on arrival to your hotel for a four-night stay. After time to settle in, meet with your travelling companions to enjoy a welcome drink before dinner in the hotel’s restaurant.
DAY 2 Vienna city tour and heurigen evening Join your Tour Manager and a Local Guide for a sightseeing tour of Vienna today. We’ll travel along the famous Ringstrasse, where we can admire the many impressive buildings which line this magnificent boulevard. Look out for the Vienna State Opera, the Burgtheater and the splendid Parliament building, before we drive past the stunning
Belvedere Palace, a fine example of Baroque architecture. We’ll also see Vienna’s best-known landmark, St Stephen’s Cathedral. Located in the heart of the city, this important Gothic structure is Vienna’s number one attraction. Our explorations continue with a tour of the Old Viennese Schnapsmuseum, where we’ll discover more about the distillation of schnapps and enjoy a tasting. We’ll then continue to the Prater funfair and experience a bird’s eye view of the city when we take a ride on the Giant Ferris Wheel. This evening we head to the wine-growing village of Grinzing for an included dinner with wine and music in a traditional heurige, or wine tavern.

DAY 3 Vienna city walk and fiaker ride Today we will explore Vienna´s historic city centre on foot. Admire the luxurious Hotel Sacher, the Spanish Riding School with its famous white Lipizzaner horses and the Imperial Crypt, the final resting place of members of the Habsburg dynasty. There’s also another chance to marvel at the impressive St Stephen's Cathedral before strolling along the lively Graben shopping street with its historic Plague Column, erected after the Great Plague epidemic of 1679. Our day continues with a ride in a fiaker, the two-horse carriage which is a common sight in Vienna. This evening is free for you to enjoy at leisure, or why not join our optional excursion which includes dinner in a traditional Viennese restaurant followed by a classical concert in an impressive Viennese Palais featuring the works of Strauss. Vienna boasts a large number of these palatial buildings, which were mostly built during the Baroque period and usually feature an elegant ball room or reception hall.
DAY 4 Schönbrunn Palace We’ll spend the entire day discovering the incredible Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of Empress Sisi. One of the most impressive Baroque palace complexes in Europe, highlights include the Palm House, home to dozens of tropical and subtropical plants, the Gloriette, from where you can admire spectacular views, and a zoo. Our visit includes a tour of the show rooms with an audio guide and there will be plenty of time to admire the beautiful gardens too.
This evening we’ll enjoy an included dinner, with the opportunity to sample an authentic Wiener Schnitzel, a delicious dish of breaded meat, usually veal, which is fried and served with lemon.
DAY 5 Vienna to UK Today we’ll transfer to the airport for the flight back to the UK.
