Innovative ultra-mild soap-free syndet base

UK-based global speciality ingredients manufacturer Stephenson will showcase its new soap free syndet called Syndopal at in-cosmetics Global 2019, opening the exhibition with a seminar entitled ‘Syndet: The Revolution.’ According to Stephenson, many manufacturers do not have access to the specialist equipment required which means that their product range capability and profitability is restricted. Syndopal is a soap- free, ph 5.5-6.5 base noodle, which produces an ultra-mild syndet bar, ensuring superior cleansing to produce premium quality syndet or combi-bars, which gently remove dirt, oil and make up without disrupting the

skin’s natural barrier. Stephenson have been working on Syndopal for over five years with the objective of creating a high-quality base that enables contract manufacturers and brands to add value to their existing product portfolio. Speaking to Personal Care, James Clews, sales and marketing director of Stephenson, said: “Traditional

syndets tend to be a dry and brittle product making it tricky to process. It meant you had to set up your process equipment specifically for that type of material, which is not like the normal soap bases that bar soap manufacturers were processing. So you were either a soap manufacturer or a syndet manufacturer. Our motivation was really to make syndet accessible to soap makers and so we had the brief to make a syndet that processes like a soap base.”

As well as being 100% soap

free and ultra-mild, other key benefits for consumers include its suitability for sensitive skin, non-irritant, non-drying, paraben free and PEG-free.
