OUR PICK OF THE RANGE C 220d AMG Line
Mercedes-Benz C-Class For quite a lot of people, the C-Class should be all the Mercedes they’ll ever need. Having received mild revisions with subtle exterior upgrades and electrifi cation of some engines in 2018, the C-Class reaffi rms its place as one of the best all-round cars in the range. Helping that is the breadth of choice within the C-Class range, with saloon and estate versions joined by beautiful coupe and cabriolet models. Additionally, there are performance versions from AMG available in most of these, with the bombastic AMG C 63S Coupe our pick of the fast ones. Petrol engines now get mild hybridisation and a plug-in hybrid diesel version that off ers lower running costs while still packing plenty of performance will also be available in 2019.

OUR PICK OF THE RANGE E 220d AMG Line
Mercedes-Benz E-Class Competition is fi erce in the executive saloon segment, especially between the German brands. While it doesn’t quite get the better of the BMW 5 Series in terms of sheer driving dynamics, there are no major criticisms of how the Mercedes E-Class performs. The nine-speed automatic transmission is one of the best in the business and the suite of driver assistance systems that Mercedes off ers is top rate. Several specifi cation grades are available including a sporty looking AMG Line grade. At the top of the scale are full-one AMG cars, too, but we think the expanded range of plug-in hybrid models will be far more popular.
