The Tesla Model S is still the market leader for driving range in the electric car market, though you have to pay handsomely for that privilege. Buyers can choose between 75- and 100kWh battery options, which off er varying levels of driving range and outright performance. Models with a ‘P’ denote dual-motor status, providing increased performance and traction, including the aptly named ‘Ludicrous Mode’, which launches the car away from rest at speeds even the most expensive supercars would struggle to match. Another major perk is access to Tesla’s own ‘Supercharger’ network for which there are three locations in Ireland, situated along major motorway routes and providing ultra-fast recharging.
