Day 1 Fly to Ljubljana. Day 2 Triglav National Park Drive to Lake Bled – situated in a serene valley beneath craggy mountains, stopping to visit Skofja Loka’s fairy tale castle on the way. Continue to Lake Bohinj. Day 3 Lake Bohinji Walk to Savica Waterfall and take the cable car up Mount Vogel. Hike to Ribcev Laz. Day 4 Optional Activities Choose to hike up Mostnice Gorge, raft on the Sava Dolinka River, enjoy mountain biking or go canyoning. Days 5 Piran Board the train for a scenic ride to the Adriatic coast. Visit the fascinating underground caves at Skocjan. Arrive at Piran. Day 6 Piran Explore of the best preserved historical towns on the Adriatic. Take a boat trip to the saltpans or visit Trieste. Day 7 Predjama Castle Return to Ljubljana, stopping on the way to admire the dramatic Predjama Castle. Day 8 Fly to the UK.

Day 1 Dobbiaco Fly to Venice. Travel to Dobbiaco. Day 2 Ridge Walk Trek along the Italian-Austrian border with great views of the Dolomites and WW1 buildings. Day 3 Lake Braies Climb to the view point above the Lake and cross a high-sided pass before descending into the valley. Day 4 Free day Relax or take an optional visit to Cortina, Lienz or the ‘Ice man’ at Bolzano. Day 5 Tre Cime An undoubted highlight and big mountain traverse to see the magnificent Tre Cime: huge limestone cliffs and rock towers that stand almost 3000m high. Day 6 Mount Serla Climb to Flodige Sattel Pass (2163m) and walk to Mount Serla (2378m); descend to Dobbiaco. Day 7 Trek from Pratopiazza to Lake Braies through wild mountain upland, passing Croda Rosa that glows red in the sunshine. Day 8 Travel to Venice and fly to the UK.
