ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Lilongwe. Afternoon guided walk through Lilongwe Sanctuary, an animal rehabilitation centre. Day 3 Zomba Plateau From Malawi’s capital travel south, stopping at Dedza Pottery and Zomba’s lively market. Day 4 Emperor’s View Walk along the Zomba Plateau to Chingwe’s Hole; admire the dramatic panorama over Mozambique and the Mulanje Massif from the Queen’s and Emperor’s viewpoints; search the indigenous forest for blue monkeys and the many bird species including the rare Livingstone’s Turaco. Days 5/6 Lake Malawi Free time to spend relaxing on the shores of the great lake, snorkelling or sailing to the nearby islands. Days 7/8 South Luangwa National Park Stop at Mua Mission to learn about Malawian history and culture on the way to Zambia’s nature reserve. Days 9/11 Great gamelands Enjoy a series of game drives and walking safaris through woodlands, lagoons and along riverbanks in search of lions, buffalos, zebras and giraffes. Night drives are also possible. Day 12 Drive to Lilongwe. Free time to explore the capital. Days 13/14 Fly to the UK.

Come on an exciting journey with us across this beautiful corner of Africa: from Malawi’s great lake to the wildlife-rich South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. On a series of game drives we observe a range of wildlife including lion and buffalo in the ‘mopane’ woodlands and cool oases of this varied landscape. Each night we camp under the stars for a real sense of adventure.

ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Lilongwe in Malawi. Days 3/4 Liwonde National Park Drive south to this park, home to more than 60 species of game. Take a safari in search of elephants, sable antelopes and warthogs. There is the option to sail along the Shire River to track crocodiles and hippos. Days 5/7 Cape Maclear Spend three days on this forested peninsular to enjoy a variety of optional activities including snorkelling, sailing or kayaking. It is also possible to visit a local village or school. Day 8 Senga Bay Drive to this lakeside beach past the Roman Catholic Mua Mission and museum. Days 9/11 South Luangwa National Park Cross into Zambia to one of the country’s finest parks with its mopane woodland, attractive river and deep lagoons. Take a series of game drives in open safari vehicles to see incredible animals such as lions and buffalos. Optional night drives and walks are available. Day 12 Drive to Lilongwe and explore the market town. Days 13/14 Fly to the UK.
