We experience the wilderness of the desert, visit spectacular beaches and swim in the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Oman. ITINERARY
Day 1 Fly to Muscat. Day 2 Finns Beach Drive to Wadi Shab and optional walk in the Wadi Tiwi. Swim at Finns Beach. Day 3 Dhow shipyards Drive to Sur to visit the shipyards and drive along the coastal route to Qahid. Camp by the dunes. Day 4 Wahiba Sands Drive through the desert with dunes as high as 200m and camp under the stars in the vast wilderness of the Wahiba Sands. Day 5 Bedouin market Drive to Nizwa stopping at Sinaw to visit a traditional Bedouin market. Day 6 Nizwa Explore the city, visiting a souk and a goat auction. Visit the ruined village of Tanuf and the Nizwa Fort. Drive through the Jebel Akhdar mountain range to Jebel Shams viewpoint that overlooks Oman’s Grand Canyon. Day 7 Muscat Drive through Wadi Bani Awf stopping for a walk in the area. Drive to Muscat. Day 8 Muscat Tour the capital including a visit to the Oman Museum, Mamos Mosque and Muthra Souk before boarding the dhow for the night. Day 9 Dhow Relax on the traditional sailing boat and swim, snorkel or kayak before returning to Muscat. Day 10 Fly to the UK.
