ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Santiago. Guided tour of the capital city. Day 3 Valparaiso Enjoy a free day with the option to visit the cultural capital of Chile - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Days 4/6 Atacama Desert Fly to Calama. Drive to the town of San Pedro de Atacama in the volcanic landscape of Los Andes Cordillera – the gateway to the Atacama Desert. Explore the Moon Valley, geysers and salt lagoons – home to flocks of pink flamingos. Days 7/9 Chilean Lake District Fly to Puerto Montt and drive to Puerto Varas, on the shores of Lake Llanquihue. Trek through Valdivian forests on the slopes of Osorno volcano. Optional boat trip to Chiloe Island. Day 10 Penguin colony Fly to Punta Arenas. Optional visit to the penguin colony of Magdalena Island (November to March). Days 11/13 Torres del Paine Explore the landscape of glaciers, waterfalls, lakes, jagged mountain peaks and the famous ‘Torres’ - granite towers which stand over 1800m high. Optional boat trip across Grey Glacier. Day 14 Santiago Return to the capital. Days 15/16 Overnight flight to the UK.
