ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Havana. Day 2 Havana Tour the old town, absorbing the atmosphere of the vibrant city. Days 3/4 Trinidad Travel to the historic Bay of Pigs – the site of the 1961 US invasion of Cuba. Continue along the coast to the colonial town of Trinidad. Days 5/6 Mountain trails Spend 2 nights camping in haciendas (farm estates) in Topes de Collantes National Park. Explore mountain trails and swim under waterfalls. Days 7/8 Comandancia de la Plata Drive to Santo Domingo and discover Fidel Castro’s secret headquarters in the Sierra Maestra Mountains. Days 9/10 Pico Turquino Trek through lush tropical forests to the summit of Cuba’s highest peak (1972m). Days 11 Santiago de Cuba Explore one of the island’s liveliest cities and relax with a cocktail in one of the roof-top bars. Days 12/13 Havana Drive to Havana. Visit Cameguey and Che Guevara’s mausoleum at Santa Clara en route. Day 14 Rainforest walks Explore forest trails and swim in jungle pools at Las Terrazas. Days 15/16 Overnight flight to the UK.

Cycle with us through Cuba as we tour the colonial capital, explore tropical forests and pedal past the limestone landscape of ‘mogotes’. We also ride through the hills of Topes de Collantes Nature Reserve and along the Caribbean coast to Trinidad, stopping to swim in tropical pools and visit the historic Bay of Pigs.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Havana. Days 2/4 Tropical back-roads Cycle from Soroa to Las Terrazas: an area of verdant forests, waterfalls and jungle rivers. Pedal along quiet back-roads to San Diego, famous for its hot springs. Days 5/7 Viñales Ride on quiet country roads to Viñales, famous for its tobacco and ‘mogotes’ landscape. Day 8 Caribbean coast Swim in sea, visit the infamous Bay of Pigs and explore the well-preserved town of Cienfuegos. Days 9/11 Trinidad Cycle down the Caribbean coast to the colonial town and the Valle de Ingenios. Day 12 Downhill free-wheel Explore the forest- clad hills of Topes de Collantes. Cycle downhill to Santa Clara home to Che Guevara’s mausoleum. Day 13 Rural Cuba Cycle through the hidden green oasis Valle Yumuri. Return to Havana. Day 14 Havana Enjoy a free day to explore the capital. Days 15/16 Overnight flight to the UK.
